| Network Connection Issues |

This is likely a network issue not related to Studio Suite or FileMaker. Next time this happens, prior to searching for the FileMaker Host, check to see if you have internet (network) access. If so, then try the FM host. If it?s not visible, Quit FileMaker and re-open to see if that fixes it. Also check the FileMaker Server Log to see if it has anything revealing.
Web browsers and email applications typically have very short connections to the network and can easily handle a dropout or a dynamic network switch, but because the FileMaker Pro client locally manages relational dependencies located a database on a server, it?s is very sensitive to network anomalies. If there is a network dropout for any reason, the OS will typically search for another network (wireless or another NIC), and this gives FM a major brain freeze, as once a file is open, that file can only address 1 network per launch. This problem is exacerbated in wireless networks which are prone to dropouts, so avoid wireless if at all possible. Other possibilities are intermittent ethernet connections, cabling, a router, or router port that?s starting to have problems.
