Remote Access options outside of Facility

The Internet version of Studio Suite 9 includes browswer-based access to Studio Suite.  If you do not currently own this version, there are still a few ways to access Studio Suite remotely:

  1. As long as you have FileMaker and a Studio Suite client installed on their home computer, you can log in from Home. The catch is that it will take some time (5-10 minutes!) to log in, but once you are in, it will speed up as data gets cached.  This method is usable, but somewhat sluggish for constant everyday use. This method requires that port 5003 be opened on you router/firewall.
  2. Use any kind of remote access software, like Apple Remote Desktop, GoToMyPC, Windows Remote Desktop Connection, etc.
  3. GoGlobal and Citrix are high-end server-based virtual client approaches that are very responsive on the client side, but are more expensive.
